[SixClub] Digital on 6 meters

Les,
Would one want a bandplan to keep the 1kHz signals away from 100 kHz signal,
or 2.4 kHz signals, etc.?
So whatever is adopted, and hopefully with some changes to the proposal, we
would still need to put this 1kHz automatic stuff somewhere where its impact
would be minimized. It is no different than the cases where we have
repeaters in the Pacific DX window. Either we plan to avoid it or we can
plan to suffer through it, but that doesn't mean that we can't, with some
thought, accommodate different modes.

Bruce -- The widest commonly used digital modes from ATTENDED stations
are Qlivia andf Contestia at 1KHz wide and the WinDRM and AOR Digital Voice
modems with signals that are not any wider than a typical SSB signal.
PACTOR III signals are over 2KHz wide, the automated (UNATTENDED)
systems transmit these signals do not have the capability of detecting other

signals on the frequency and they will transmit when ready and repeat their
tranmissions until correctly received and acknowledged by the other party.
It seems to me that these robot signals are much more of an immediate
interference threat to 6 meters than arbitrarily raising the maximum
permissible bandwidth to 100 KHz, when there are currently not to my
knowledge any systems that wide being proposed.
Maybe you are aware of some syetem that I haven't heard of yet. --
