I forgot in my reply, I do occasionally use a "Francis" fiberglass CB
whip without the typical base spring for 6m, primarily when I drive
long distances, as it is a bummer to have to remove it to clear
parking garages..
Francis CB antennas are orange in color & carried by most CB radio
specialty shops, I use a quick disconnect on mine to ease removal at
garage entrances..
I use a Ranger RCI-5054dx100..
