No problems using paypal since it was available.

I recommend not using a checking account for paypal,

setup a savings account, I use one at my credit union,
for all paypal transactions. 

Yes there are fees if you accept credit cards, however,
I have found the fees less expensive then running to the
credit union to make deposits every few days, not counting
waiting in line at the atm drive up and the fuel and time spent.

I only accept USD as payments.

There are scammers out there and there will always be.
