Hi Mike:

I have used since 1998 the Outbacker Mobile antenna Hf / 6m /2m  with my 
706 only at home and on the roof of the houses at about the roof peak 
line, Has worked very well, I made about 184 contacts on 6m with it when 
the band was open on 2003 ? . I like it very much. It works very well. 
You can have a $100.00 old radio that works okay. But add. a good 
antenna be it HF or others, and your up and running and having fun with 
a good signal. I hope this helps with your info. that you are looking 
for. I like the Outbacker. What ever works for you and what you find and 
like is what you have to be happy with, Not me or others. Just our 
findings of what worked for use.
