Dear fellow hams,

My nephew has shown a strong interest in getting licensed. I am looking 
for any gear that you may have laying around collecting dust that you would 
like to donate to this young fellow. A little about him...his name is Zach 
and he is almost 16 years old. He lives in Gastonia, NC. He has had the 
opportunity to play at my shack a few times and seems to really be curious 
about radio. He is about to get his driver's license and I commented to him 
that he will need to put an antenna on his truck to be cool and that he 
shouldn't put a silly CB antenna on it. He asked about how to get his ham 
ticket in response to that. I hadn't talked with him in a week and then I 
got bombarded with several emails from him all with questions about how to 
study and where to test. He has found a couple of clubs around his house and 
is about as serious as it gets (all on his own). I pointed him to qrz.com 
and eham.net for studying and told him that I would be glad to explain in 
detail any of the theory. Anyway, I plan on helping him build all the base 
station antennas in the world...so no problem there. What we are looking for 
is...

- Tech, General, Extra study books
- mobile antenna's (2M, or 2M/70CM, or 10M)
- radios (transceivers, receivers...anything)
- power supply
- old computers

If you have any of these things, or anything that you think may be useful, 
please drop me an email. I'll pay for all shipping. Also, please pass this 
along to anyone that you know that may have some extra equipment that they 
would donate to a young ham. Thanks!
