Yes, I have had multiple contacts with a number of people and no one has 
been rude.  If the other person is hammering out the contacts, I don't 
usually bother.  If they aren't making lots of contacts, some of them are 
amenable to a brief rag chew.  After a while, you learn to identify the 
regulars and who is willing to take time to chat.  So far, no one has been 
rude.
