The WA5SIX repeater on 53.11 is on a 150 ft tower in
Channelview, TX on
the East side of Houston, TX. I think the pl is 141.3
and it is active.
Houston area 6 meter repeaters have to contend with
the spurs from KPRC
channel 2 which reaks havoc on the repeaters receiver.
Channel 2 went
off the air once for maintanence and Rick turned off
the pl and folks as
far north as Bryan/College Station and south to
Wharton & Bay city were
full quieting. As soon as channel 2 fired up all went
to crap again but
their engineers say it ain't them causing the
problem????

There are 4 or 5 licensed 6 meter repeaters in
Houston, Tx (EL29),
but I have yet to reach one of them.

I understand that all but one are in the owner's back
yard & not on
tall buildings, one licensed repeater is linked to the
Salt Grass
Link System whenever 6 meters is coming in to 2 meter
& 70cm
repeaters on the linked system which covers a wide
area of SE Texas &
several locations in western Louisiana.
