[SixClub] ICOM 551D

I had one for a while, and generally speaking liked it. However, the
PLL isn't stable while mobile, and the Tx of mine was a little
trashy. My neighbor complained about me tearing up his channel 2 TV
reception; a low pass filter helped to a great extent.
Also, I'm told that the CPU for those radios is no longer available,
so if it is lost, then the rig is an organ donor. There is a way to
keep power on the battery backed RAM to keep the memory programmed,
but with only the 3 or 4 memory slots, re-programming it isn't a big deal.
I once did an A/B comparison between my 551D & a Kenwood TS-60; one
heard weak signals just as well as the other; that was encouraging, I
suppose; perhaps not.
