I just wanted to comment that the "501 C3" IS a Non Profit tax designation.
I certainly understand if you are balking simply because of the "Board of
Directors" issue. I was not aware that the Club was not "501 C3". It would
certainly be helpful if it was, because then there are grants and other
things that could be applied for and other resources available that are not
available to groups that are not tax-exempt. I hope that we have more
consideration of this issue in the future. BTW, it might also provide
incentive to some folks to donate to the operational fund of the club if it
was tax-deductible. Just some thoughts.
