I have had a 551D since 2000 and was my only 6M radio until this summer. It
does not have all the bells and whistles that a more modern rig has but it
performs very well. With the 551D and modest antennas (loop and 3 element
beam - both in the attic) I worked over 300 grids and 45 countries. Think you
also got a good deal on yours - I see them routinely selling for over $300
without a power supply. I am sure you will have fun with it.

Hello everyone.
I just picked up an ICOM 551D - in great shape with power supply for $200.00
Can anyone tell me about this unit? Anyone own one?
Thanks!
