The HE-61 and 61A look pretty much the same and both were noted for their
drifting characteristics. 61A is slightly better design, and maybe
slightly more stable, but both suffered from mechanical instability. One
of the better 6M VFO's around is the Ameco VFO620. Trio also made a 6 and
2 M VFO for Lafayette that had the model number HE-89. Also, a very good
and stable VFO.
