primarily looking at an antenna for 146 / 440 ? ? ?   A TV antenna can be a 
good source of parts for V/UHF but I would just look for good plans for a 
beam and not worry about "converting" the TV antenna into a beam.  I would 
concentrate on building the beam using the recycled parts.
