rip the roof off.  I know the winters up there get cold so put the brain on 
defrost and lay it out more logical.  I presume (assume) that by roof you 
are trying to tell us that you need to re-roof the house and don't want to 
put anything up on the roof.

What is it that want to do?  Are you wanting to work FM and/or SSB and on 
which bands?  There are too many variables and options to come up with any 
reasonable response to this.  And as for running 1KW on V/UHF ... buddy ... 
you better go look at the guidelines/rules for RF exposure.
