I stopped by a FD site yesterday.  They put me to work on 40CW to give the op a break.  After that I wandered over to the 6M station.  They kept saying that the band was closed.  When the station was vacant, I went over and started calling CQ on 50.095.  The first CQ netted me a QSO.  I made about a half dozen in the 10 or so minutes I played around.  Moral:  Yes, the white noise is deafening...so start transmitting!!
