Dave-
New to the hobby (little over a year) and over the past weekend dieing
to make just one contact I was all up and down the band. Writing down
everyone I could hear, trying to find the right time to jump in and make
a contact. I did go back and look in my scrap book next to my rig and
see only a few QSO is this area you talked about. Many I have marked as
trying to hit for a contact. (just lack of knowing any better).
However after knowing this now, I will put it on my "band page" Just a
place I take little notes like this so that I dont become a bad apple in
the basket. Now beside CW that is very well marked on band plan. Maybe
someone could put something together that shows everyone where different
modes are to be played out over the band. Not only would this keep the
band cleaner and more fun, but also help people like my self that just
want to make a simple contact somewhere in some mode a lot easier. So I
guess I understand your frustration, but how do you reach the whole ham
community with your message? An article in QST called how to keep the
magic band clean and magic sounds like a good idea to me. Anyways thank
your for the info and be sure you have reached at least 1 person with
your message.
73's to all
