Hi Paul!

Welcome back to 6M. The 4-65A tetrodes are nice and should put out near
500W CW when run _alls to the walls. My favorite bottle(s) are a PAIR of
4-125A's or a single 4-250A. These two bottles can be run as GGAmps, wheras
the 4-65A geometry is not friendly to the GGA cconfiguration with all grids
at DC ground. Of course, a pair of 125's /4D21's will go 1kw in and 750 out
at 6 and so will a single 4-250A.

BTW, the station advocating use of GE or Moto amps is correct. They make
real nice ad on's and good fr much QRO

Gud luck es 73

Subject: [SixClub] Looking: 4-65A Amplifier Circuits...

Greetings OM & YL,

First an introduction:
I am a 55 year old male living in Eastern Kansas, USA, Earth. I have
recently returned to 6 meters after a 40 year absence. AM back then,
SSB now. I operate a Heathkit SB-110 into a 1/4 wave ground plane at
the moment with a 3-element Yagi soon on the way to the roof tower.

My Question:
Back in the 1960's I had some schematics for 6 meter linear amplifiers
using the 4-65A vacuum tube. I have searched the Web Over and not
found any reference to such. I do have the schematic from the Eimac
4-65A specification sheets and will work from that unless someone might
kindly have reference to a book or web site with more details.

Thanks for your time and any advice. Hope to work many of you around
50.125 MHz USB in the future.

73,
Paul Stump, NØLRF
