Lance, it's not that I will have no more room for 6M antennas but that I
would like to maybe add some more bands in place of solely 6M on the tower
with the stack. Yes I could nestle antennas in-between the stack but I do
not want to compromise the gain on 6M. As you know every .dB gain is worth
the effort especially for EME.

The 50' boom was a strong consideration until I realized that when my
fold-over tower folds over that it would foul obstacles by a couple of feet.
A 40' boom would no though. Current plans call for a stack of 30' boom
yagis.

I have been doing a lot of modeling using Multi-NEC, YW (Yagi for Windows)
and HFTA (HF terrain Analysis) but using a 6M propagation file (W3ZZ's HFTA
seminar at the 2006 SMOGFest really pique my curiosity and ever since have
been playing with tons of different antenna and height variables as I plan
my new 6M setup. I have posted a bunch of my plots on my website.

The current planned stack looks like about 12.2dBd per NEC and YW, a single
2WL yagi would be a few tens below that with a slightly simpler feed
(hardline from radio to antenna except for the rotor loop which will be
LMR-600UF).

Hello Gary,

I am sorry to hear that you will not have more room for 6m, but
certainly understand your situation. Sounds like you sure have a
wonderful tower installation that will serve you very conveniently for
many years to come!

I think your decision to go with a single good yagi is a certainly a
very good one. For 6m DXing, I am a proponent of the K5CM philosophy of
trying to put up the biggest single yagi you can, up as high as
possible. I would suggest the 50' long 6M9KHW as a very good single
yagi that meets your gain objectives. As you know, I use four of them
here, and am very happy with the construction and performance.
