Roger,
It was Jorge, XE3WWW in EL06 near the US border and about 120 km from the
Gulf of Mexico.
I was one of a couple of W2's calling him, but I don't think I heard him
work any. I think that he did work a couple of W1's as well as what you
mentioned.
In any case, he was flooded with stations calling him and he was such a
decent and polite operator! It was nice to hear...efficient, but friendly!

I just came in from working out in the shop. I had the Yaesu 897D running
and heard a lot of 5s and even a W2 (didn't catch his location) and then an
XE turned up. He was working quite a few northern stations as well as
California. I tried, but that little vertical just wasn't cutting it.
There were quite a number of stations up and down the band on SSB and CW.
The band was still open, but up and down a lot when I came in at 0200Z.
