[SixClub] RE: SixClub Digest, Vol 28, Issue 6 What does 7 mean

I forget what they call it, but it is used in packet to set apart one packet
node from another with the same callsign. So he could also have W1OW-1 or
W1OW-2 ect. Each packet node could be on a different frequency or in a
different location. Some packet ops have stations on many different
frequencies. All the - number does is sets that station apart from another
with the same call.
Clear as mud?

It used to refer to a Packet radio callsign alias.
Not certain if that is what it is in this case.
If he were operating portable it would be W1OW/7
so I suppose it is some sort of digital mode related
alias.

If I remember my Packet Etiquette correctly
W1OW was accessing a Dx cluster on packet through a node other than one
that was directly connected to the cluster

Since neither EM42 or FN42 is in "7" land I doubt if that he is in 7
land. I suspect the -7 is either a digi-peater or digital node
(telpac / PMBO) of some sorts.
