I don't know much about the others, but I do have several SX101s.  None of 
the 101s actually receive 6-meters, but rather have a scale calibrated for 
six when used with a 6-meter converter.

Many of these older receivers have very poor image rejection. You might try 
using a low pass filter, or a band stop/reject filter at the receiver input.
