Hi Gary,

FYI, I am using a 6M StackMatch II that I modified to add BOP (Both Out of
Phase) feed for higher take-off angles. It works extremely well. The phasing
is done with a simple half-wave (electrical) length of coax. I've been
meaning to write this modification up, but haven't got around to it yet.
Modifying the much less expensive StackMatch II (rather than the StackMatch)
involves purchasing and soldering in a fourth relay (plus of course several
cuts and jumps), but the relay is not very expensive and readily available
from a couple different components vendors.

During a strong opening this past winter, I was able to switch to BOP mode
and QSO several close-in stations (about 350 miles) who were much weaker on
the BIP stack than on the BOP. It does work! Of course you only get skip
that short a couple times a year, but it's cool to have the BOP mode when
you're trying to score those rare close-in grids.
