Welcome!

I use a TS-2000 with a pair of PAR antennas - the SM-50 Stressed Moxon
directional, and the OA-50 Omni-Angle. In my location, I have a VERY small
antenna footprint available, so up on the roof is single mast with the SM-50
on a tiny rotor, an OA-432 Omni-Angle, an 0A-144 for 2 meters, and the OA-50
at the bottom of the stack, There's over 12 feet between the top antenna
and the bottom, which was the minimum practical separation. And the top of
that stack is only 40 feet or so up towards most of the country, about 65
towards the east.

With that rather modest configuration (and it's more modest predecessor)
from Georgia I've worked down to Cuba, over to Texas, up through Colorado,
Nebraska, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut.

I understand folks with the KB6KQ halos seem to really like them; you might
talk a look at the PAR OA-50 as well, there's a similar stack option. The
option I took uses a VERY directional antenna as well as the omni; it
provides some distinct advantages, though I do spend a fair amount of time
switching. *G*

Good hunting!

Hello everyone,

i just joined the lst recently and I used to be a
member however don't know if I am or not now but
anyways, I'm wanting to get back into the VHF/UHF
scene and I was wondering how many people on the List
use the TS-2000? If so how does it perform? I'm
thinking about getting that radio and then a couple of
KB6KQ halos.
