I see...24 feet and 5.5 dB. The Diamond is 21 feet and
6 dB. I see that the construction is very similar to
the AR-6, with the difference that the AR-6 has a
tuning stub made out of coax that has to be preciselly
cut to the center of the range you will be using. Once
cut, there is no turning back, except for a higher
frequency. I once had a QSO with a station from
Michigan here on FK68 land. He was using 10 watts FM
on an AR-6 on 52.525. He was reaching here quite good,
just a little fade noise (conditions were great!). I
was using a 1/2 wave vertical dipole and 35 watts.
With the DGPH-62 we had a trans equatorial contact
with two stations from Argentina. They were copying us
with a little fade and we copied him cristal clear.
Since the repeater has an AR-6 trasmitting (65W) and a
DGPH-62 receiving, it was a good way to test
performance. They were both pumping out around 25
Watts.
