hey bruce
i suggest you do yourself a favor and buy your neighboor a brand new 
cordless phone as a gift
he probably is a bit reluctant to get a new one cause he has a bunch of 
numbers stored in the phones memories....or just to cheap
so spend 30$ and get him a new phone....grin
