Thanks to everyone who has sent kind words....Taking over from Jerry means
having to fill big shoes....
And that's a lot!!!!! I want to join the list in thanking Jerry for his hard
work on running the Six Club for all these years....and I hope his health
issues are quickly resolved and we find him in good health and on the bands
for a long time to come! We all wish him well and expect he will still grace
us with his presence here and on the band!
No, I don't intend to change anything. Of course, I may look at adding some
new features but I think things are fine the way they are...Not that I am
not open to ideas....IF anyone should have any suggestions, feel free to
send them my way...I will take any and all serious ones under
consideration....
Also the positions of VP and Contest Director need to be filled...I will be
happy to entertain suggestions, nominations, etc from the
group....(PLEASE!!!! ;)=
As for six meters, it is the greatest band I have been on in my 32+ years as
a ham. It has soo much to offer...DX, local, SSB, CW, AM, FM and all classes
but one can use it (and Novices who want to get on six just need to pass a
simple theory test and get their Tech ticket)...I started on 6 AM/CW in the
early 70s with a Knight T60 and NC300 with convertor; then later T150 and
then on to FM and SSB...I love it and still operate all modes except digital
on 6 (I want to check into PSK31 but havent figured out how to do that via
the remote base yet :) and look forward to serving the membership of Six
Club with equal enthusiasm!
