Not even off the end?

What are they running, quadature arrays on 40 or 50 foot booms?
I put together a quadature array and the darn thing (on 2-meters) had so
many lobes it was confusing, but I have to admit the lobes were sharp with
very deep nulls between. Unfortunately it was so sharp I found it to be
more of a hinderance than help on two. I basically ran into the same thing
on UHF television. I could get a stacked pair working well, but even with
the wider spacing called for, adding another pair to the side sure did bring
out the extra lobes. They appeared to be too close, but were where the
figures said they should be.
