I run 100 watts to a 6M5X. Rig is TS2K running 10 watts with a mirage
solid state amplifier. Jerry (N5OSK) in Oklahoma is one I know running
six meter scatter with 30 watts. The antenna should be horizontal
because ms maintains it polarity and almost all active station use
horizontal polarization.

I would recommend starting with what you have and latter adding a small
brick amplifier if possible.
