Has it been discontinued? It is still on Yaesu's website. I've heard
rumors
for over a year but never any official word.
I was thinking about picking up another one. I hope they come out with
another base unit as the displays on the 857 and 897's are too small.
Another nice thing about the 847 is that it has individual ports for
HF/6/2/.70
so you can have antennas for each band connected without having to use
a switch.
I also have a FT-726 with the 6m module that works quite well. I have
also had one of the TenTec 6m transverters. If you already have an
HF rig (without 6) it is a quick and inexpensive way to get on 6.
