I have the 756 Pro and like it. Although the Pro II has fixed a few
problems in most cases you never notice any and the 756 Pro, Pro II or III
also give you 160 through 6 with 100 watts out. It has a built in memory
keyer although some what limited with only 4 memories. OTOH it's plenty for
a contest exchange, or aurora exchange. The 756 Pro is showing up at some
pretty good prices used. I recently saw a Pro II go for $1600 plus change
on e-bay.

A number of the newer rigs also have the capability of being operated from
your computer. Still, I know of none that are plug and play in that respect.
Getting one up and running can be a real education unless you and the
interface designer happen to think alike. <:-)) But, get one up and running
and it can make contesting on CW and digital modes a joy and take the work
out of logging and cross checking on SSB.

There are a number of good programs, but be careful with the terms such as
share ware and programs included.
To those of us who grew up with the industry shareware is still, Use it, if
you like it, how about a contribution? Unfortunately that term is now often
used with "trial ware" which quits working after 10, 20, or 30 days unless
you purchase it.

I have no problem with either approach, but I wish they'd stick with the
original definition of share ware as there is a lot of share ware out there
that is truly share ware such as bittorrent.

Now as to the up coming contest<sigh> My rotor is frozen at 090 although
it'd do well on an opening into the East coast.
