Hi Mike,
A coat hanger will do if that is all you have. But, remember this old Ham
rule... Bigger is better!!!!
And if most of your 6M activities will be via FM, do the vertical thing as it
will work for DX'ing also... Another old Ham rule... The higher it is, the better
it will work for FM work...
Another important consideration is the feed line... The higher the antenna, the
longer the feed line and a chance for greater loss. You could lose more via
cheap/poor/wrong feedline than you gain with height and antenna improvements.
