6M dipole

As far as vertical versus horizontal -- when a VHF contest weekend is
approaching and I've wanted to get on to work a few guys, give my friends a
QSO, etc., a couple times I have put up a 6M dipole (driven element from a
yagi, all by itself), even at 10 or 15' on a vent pipe on the roof, and
gotten a 1:1 SWR and it was easy to work most of the guys I wanted to. So,
besides the vertical... there are quick and easy horizontal antennas you can
put up that will work, short of putting up a beam.
