Greetings,
My name is Mike Urich and my call is KA5CVH. I am now the clubs contest
director and I am announcing the 2006 6 meter club annual contest. Its
amazing how this came about. I told Jerry, W9FS, that I could help out
and I think everyone else in line stepped back so here I am. By way of
introduction I'm no big time great world class contester. As a matter of
fact the past 3 years or so every week-end that had a significant contest
I was committed to something that could not be avoided.
My predecessor, Jerry, N4AVM, had chosen the dates of 8-9 July 2006 for
the next club contest, and I see no need to change that. I am getting up
to speed on the clubs contest rules, scoring, etc and am looking for any
input you may have. If there is anything that has been a "burr in your
crawl" about the contest let me know. I won't promise you that things
will change but I do want to hear about previous "opportunities" that we
could improve on. I am working on a new score summary sheet that should
speed up things on my end a little. OK, at least it makes more sense to
me and I'm the one who has to do it so work with me OK!
Right now I'm in the beginning process of a move from a bedroom community
of Houston (LaPorte) out to the country so I may not even have a station
on the air by contest week-end. Even so I will hook up either my FT-100
or FT-736 to the KB6KQ loop and try to make a few "q's".
After the first of the year I am going to start working with the vendors &
manufacturers and see what kind of prizes we can come up with.
For contest related email you can contact me either contests at 6mt.com or
six at ka5cvh.com. Normal email can go to mike at ka5cvh.com.
Looking to working with y'all.
