I can only speak from my experiences... I have worked 241 unique
stations using meteor scatter mode FSK441A and 113 unique stations using
PSK31.
Daily meteor scatter contacts can be worked using WSJT but for most
locations PSK31 is used only when the band is open. I would recommend
focusing on FSK441A when the band is dead and PSK31 during enhancements.
The most popular was of making contacts using meteor scatter is via
"real time schedules". Check out the Ping Jockey Page for schedules or
call CQ on 50.260 MHz for random contacts.
