Well said. It is just good operator practices to follow the recommendations
that domestic contacts not be held in the 50.100 to 50.125 window. Am I in
the minority on respecting this?

The band plan does not say you can only work DX (outside NA) in the window,
it just says you should not make domestic contacts. Of course you can work
DX in other parts of the band, but leave the window for just DX (SSB or CW).

It's like the digital band plan, it's a recommendation to operate further up
the band but the regs do not stop you from running digital on 50.125 or
50.110, etc. But you may not be well regarded if you did.

I disagree. The DX window (50100-50125) is a terrific idea and everyone
should respect that window. Same thing with the US national calling
frequency 50125. You may not hear DX in the DX window and may very well be
interfering with those who do or could. Just because you can't hear it
doesn't mean it isn't there. Since we are on the subject 50125 is the
calling frequency. Whether the band is open or not people should not be rag
chewing on 50125. It's a calling frequency. Once you make that initial
contact move up the band so someone else can make a call.

Just my thoughts
