There is no min age limit for broadcasting (since there is no legal
requirement for having an operators license anymore!) but tell her to
STAY away from broadcasting...long hours, low pay and cheap companies
who will screw you at the 1st blink...go into something that pays better
and she can enjoy....been there, done that...
I always told older hams to specify who is the "curator" of their ham
gear after they pass.....and how to divy up the money....either to an
XYL if living or family...DONT leave it to the courts....one ham who
passed here in my area was an old friend...one of the few 6 SSB ops at
the time and a control op of my rptr system....I was living 2 hrs away
at the time...found out he died when I was on an out of town trip...his
station got sold by the lawyer assigned to his case for $350
total...this included tower, antenna stack (which I put up...a 6mtr,
2mtr, 220 and 440 yagi stack!), HD73 rotor, TS 180, Midland 13-513 220,
IC-245 with SSB adaptor and IC551 with FM module! ALL for $350...and a
HAM bought it...what a rip...His estate needed money to pay off
debt...and was worth much more than that...he had no children, etc so
noone got stuck with the bills).
