I am a novice to this band so please forgive my lack of knowledge and
experience on 6 mtrs...my 6 mtr "dx" distance has been increased from 45
miles to 150 miles this evening as I heard and worked VE5UF in Saskatoon
...it seemed like the band was opening but I was heading out of the
house to our General Hospital...when I got home the E skip had changed
to aurora as the voice signals have a very husky characteristic to
them...I'm hearing K0TVD, Bill, in western Iowa, EN21...called a few
times but no go...other stations copied but not worked were W0IS,
K0HA;EN10 and VE5PM (very light)...I'm running an FT-817 and a 4 element
Cushcraft beam at 55 feet...any tips are always appreciated...73 Bruce.
