Hi Guys,
I see a lot of guys saying they almost worked a station or heard one weakly and I wonder whats going on because the band has been open here a lot the last couple days. I guess that is just the nature of the beast. I must say again that an OUTSIDE HORIZONTAL antenna is a MUST if you are going to work six meters day in/day out. Sat and watched the east coast gang yesterday and today working P49, PJ2, HI8, KP4, CO2/8, FJ5 and others while I could not hear them then the band popped open and must have been a hundred Florida and coastal stations in there. Worked 8's, 9's, 3's, 4's, and 2's in that opening. The band was open off and on most of the day yesterday and again today, some openings lasting a couple minutes, some a couple hours. It just takes lot of patience and listening and again I say CALLING... Noone hears anybody if everyone listens. Tonight the band opened to the North and west and heard or worked AZ, NM, CO, NE, ID, WA, CA, ND, IN, and WY. Lots of other stations were working stuff I could not hear but I still enjoyed knowing the band was open. Good luck to EVERYBODY and BTW, call on 50125 and then move them off.... Must have been 10 different QSO's there tonight same time . 73 all Jay W5DN
