Any of you guys new on six that have had problems making contacts, get ready because E's season is upon us. This looks like its going to be a good one too since we have had some pretty decent openings maybe a little earlier than usual. Anybody who has been on six meters any period of time has had his share of static, thats for sure. You even get to where you can tell if the noise is local or whether it is propagated, someone sharing their noise with you so to speak. I was fortunate enough to get my last two states for WAS this year, a couple weeks ago and you can do it too. A good antenna, outside, is a must if possible. It'll make all the difference in the world. Also a resonant antenna is always better than a random length. I have heard plenty of people with G5RV's and 160 meter dipoles and all matter of other antennas but when those antennas stop hearing stations, the good resonant ones keep on going. Good luck to you all and remember, if no one talks, no one hears. So many times the band is open and noone says anything!!!! Call CQ, test, say something!!!! 73 and Good DX and 6 meters forever!!!!
