Seriously, there can be precip static from COLD rain but I have not seen
that in summer or hot weather..but it could happen....I have only seen
static from lightning discharges in summer months myself..DB Products
sold a tape for their lowband antennas to help reduce precip
static....(it does tend to melt though due to a lightning strike :)
