My wife's computer monitor has long been a source of RFI squared on 50.125.
and it's pretty strong. I can hear it listening on 17m and 40m as well, but
it's S9 on 50.125 as well as generally present away from 50.125 on 6m. <S3
once you get away from that freq.

I have taken steps to reduce this interference (ferrite etc) however I just
found a way to remove it. FYI.

Though it is my wife's computer I use it a lot. (just distinguish it from
mine it's the only one that she'll let out of my 'server room'.

I occasionally use it for soundcard interfacing my 897 to play with APRS or
whatever.

My eyes are extremely sensitive when it comes to monitor refresh rate. I
keep everything set to at least 70 on all my screens, I can tell that 60 is
flashy and after a while my eyes will hurt.

Well, in a bit of an experiment tonight when doing some work on 50.125 I
decided to play some more with the settings of the monitor. Setting the
refresh rate back to 60hz totally alleviated the problem on 50.125. and
after several spectrum analyzer scans I can't find that spike anywhere.
But hey, it's not on 50.125 so I don't care!

50.125 is where my radio is always at, so now, I can "play 6 meters" while
she does her writing.

WAHOO!

Seven Three
And now that I can hear something other than buzzing on 6m I have the volume
turned back up!
