Been a rough day for me. I know a lot of us have been taking part in the VHF
contest. I was rovering over in DN23... had the yagi set up and was out
in the middle of a flat desert. Nothing taller than a rattle snake for 40
miles. Except the occasional sagebrush.
I made one contact over to DN11. so at least I activated the grid. Sadly
that was my contact for that location. I did hear a couple of California and
Washington stations I had worked yesterday but the opening were in the
neighborhood of 2-5 seconds. (maybe cause I was sitting under the ILS
approach path to the Boise airport. 747 propagation on 6m? ;)
There were several times that I caught one or two phonetics of a call at 59.
but just as quick as it would open... it would close.
I'm back at home and listening... but I've got some interference on 50.125 +
or - 1.7 khz. Listening to WSJT as well.
Hope everyone else is having better luck. (except those who are rovers in
Idaho ;)
ZEB
