Well, my weekend didn't go very well, as far as 6m is concerned.

I setup to operate near Salmon, Idaho...   I found a grid corner to operate
at... I was in DN25 and my antenna was in DN35. My power was in another grid
and my radio yet another.     

But despite being in the mountains and running 100w into a yagi @ 30'   no
contacts were made. 

Early Monday morning I did hear a couple of pings, sounded like maybe a
couple passing meteors or maybe a 747 ;)


This morning I fired up the truck and headed to work. Heard some signals on
6m but needed to check into our morning net, my radio started acting strange
(FT857) and lost output modulation, for a short time... (or so the NCS says)
after a power off and back on, the modulation was there but none of my
memories were... finally got all my menu settings back and tuned to 6m.   no
signals. No luck on CQ either.   I wish the 'magic band' would grant my
birthday wish and give me some contacts today!


I'll be activating a few more grids and mountains over the next 6 weeks or
so... maybe I'll have better luck.
