I just got back from a week at PJ2/Curacao (Dutch Island about 30
miles off the coast of Venezuela).

NO 6M openings to the north, but every evening TE (trans-Equatorial)
openings south.

YV4AB beacon in 24 hours daily.

After dark, ZP5AA/B plus several LU and PY beacons would show up -- some S9!

Call CQ on 50.110 and get several Brazilian and/or Argentine
responses, though sometimes bad distortion made SSB sigs hard to read.

On 1-18 I heard the ZD8VHF and FY7THF beacons, called CQ, and FY1FK
came back with an S7 signal! Chatted a while, but 15 minutes later he
and both the FY and ZD8 beacons were gone. By the way, when there a
year ago I did work ZD8Z on 6!

I was staying at the PJ2T contest station; on 6 meters we have five
elements at 100 feet and a 706 at 100 W.

6M is like real estate: Location, Location, location!
