[SixClub] uniform subject in band opening. WAS: "RE:TEST"

Well I'd suggest we stick to the subject line. There are more e-mail =
clients
that can filter the subject than the body of the email. Also if I say
something like "WOW! What a major band opening" then the filter could =
pick
that up. Adding the UTC and grids would be nice.

i.e.=20
BANDOPEN 2100z hearing FN03 in DN13

Just having "bandopen" in the subject would be enough of a filter and =
the
rest would be quick reference for the details.=20

I just hate forgetting to check the folder that sixclub gets put into. =
And
when I do there are tons of e-mails about band openings.=20

Great idea.

Speaking of uniform reporting, it drives me nuts when people go to the=20
trouble of reporting an opening (that part doesn't drive me nuts, that =
part=20
makes me very happy) but then don't mention the time. Please PLEASE put =
in=20
the time, IN UTC!!, in your condition reports. In fact, why not =
standardize=20
the subject line or the first line of the message (my mail client's =
filters=20
can search either one easily) to something like this:
BANDOPEN UTCTIME MYGRID COMMENTS
   e.g.
BANDOPEN 0218UTC EN53 hearing EL80, EL90

or perhaps
BANDOPEN UTCTIME HEARD
just giving some grids or other geographical region heard.

I can't tell you how many times I've gotten messages from hams that sort =

near the bottom or top of my list of incoming mail because the sender =
has=20
the clock set wrong on his PC and so that timestamp is whacked out. =
Kinda=20
hard to tell what time/date the band opening alert is referring to, or=20
whether to get excited about it or not.
