hey randy
even a totally deaf person could learn the code
i have seen it done using a keyer hooked to a light bulb and at 5 wpm 
its not that tough to see the dots and dashes
i am not a fan of the code at all due to concentration issues i have but 
i learnt it at 5wpm
if they do away with the code  they really need to rework the question 
pool and get some questions in the tech/general on repeater useage and so on
its really sad to see these people pass the NoCode license and dont know 
the proper offset for a 2 meter repeater or how a repeater even works
well enough rambling
