Carl makes a good point. I almost got into a fight with Dave Summers so you know I don't like everything the BOD of the ARRL does! But much of that can be changed, and it will take time, when you have to do it by electing officers it is slow. I encourge you to join the ARRL pay attention to the issues and help make the future of ham radio better. As to BPL, if  allowed, it will impact amateur radio and the results are not going to be good.
