Personally I'll be happy with whatever improvement the FCC lays on my
little Tech Ticket..... If all I get is some small slivers of HF I can
deal with that. I have a rock bound T-60. I'm only going to use little
slivers of spectrum anyway. I'm also in the process of learning the
code. Not because I have a gun to my head but because it's the OTHER
MODE my antique transmitters can run..... Antique mode for my antique
equipment. Globe, Knight, Lafayette. I even built a single tube 80m 40m
cw transmitter thats sitting on the shelf waiting for change or my
getting comfortable enough with the mode to go take the test. Whichever
comes first. I'll be just as happy. I was banging away on a straight key
last night around 50.04 just for fun. (fun/hobby/build/enjoy) What a
concept!
Which brings me to what I really wanted to find out.
What would be good frequency's for a SLOW coder to operate on? I need to
find some more 6m CW rocks for the box. The only other xtal I have down
that far is 50.004 and that one sounds like it's to close to the edge of
the band to be useful. And if anyone has any spare FT243's they want to
get rid of please let me know what freq. and what ya want for them. Hey,
I'm havin fun, hope you are too. :-)
