[BULK] - RE: [SixClub] Heathkit 6 met mod

An HW-100 makes a complex candidate for six meter operation. The most
likely way to achieve 6m operation with the '100 is to use an outboard 28 to
50 MHz transverter, and several are available both kits and factory wired on
the market today; however the '100 was not set up initially for transverter
interfacing, and will require some modifications to make this work.

Cheapest approach is the Ten Tec 6m transverter kit, model TT1208, which is
only $119 in kit form. To use it with the '100, you'll need to pull out the
PA drive signal from the '100 (before the 6146s), shut off the finals (easy
to do), and route the driver signal to the transverter in the TX mode, while
routing the transverter output to the RX antenna jack for receiving. Not a
complex mod, but a mod nonetheless.

The Down East Microwave model 50-28CK is a good kit, also. A bit more
expensive at $295, but also more feature-rich, and more powerful than the
Ten Tec...and DEM provides tons of instructional information regarding
interfaces and rig modifications for use with transverters.
