[SixClub] 6 meter packet freq

Only packet I know of on 6 that is active is the W2EV Propnet and he
recently moved to 50.62 I think...
The freqs you quote below is also from the ARRL band plan (which is a
joke)...none of the paired freqs is in use...51.700 is not used AFAIK in
most areas....50.70 WAS used years ago (like 146.70) for RTTY and early
packet...but to be honest, few packet users are on 6....(which I always
thought was a mistake...6mtrs would make a GREAT backbone band....6mtrs get
MUCH better range than 220 or 440 and for use as a backbone, it made
sense...but when I brought that idea up to certain packet users, all I got
was rolled eyes and some mumbling....of course they never operated 6m radios
with Noise Blankers ...also look at feedline loss on 6 vs 220 and
440....running 9600 on 6 is not impossible..and a long haul backbone on 6
would be a best shot....puts the 6m box at a rptr site...NOT a user's
home...so TVI is not an issue...and 6mtr range would be fantastic.....ehhh
so much for out of the box thinking..
(CLECO, a power company in LA, did the same thing...when they moved their
voice channels to 800Mhz trunking, they refarmed their 48 Mhz lowband
channels to Mobile data at 9600...and it works JUST fine!)
