I have ordered a MH - 510  and will let you know how it compares with my
ham stick and the stock antenna.

Antenna arrived in the mail today.  The Maldol  MH-510 works well.

on simplex (1.0 watt setting)  got an S6 report compared to S3 with 
stock VX7R antenna (with loading coil)

Was able to put an acceptable signal through the local repeater even 
with 300 mw and could be heard with 100 mw.  Needed to go to 5 watt 
setting using stock antenna.

When trying to access the repeater from a remote location; The HAMstick 
for 6 mounted on the roof of my Mobile, of course, still out performs 
both the MH510 and the stock antenna   Not really a fair test.  size matters
